Arctic boys choir festival 7 August – 11 August 2024
We, Ung i kor and Ung kirkesang, can proudly invite you and your boys’ choir to the Arctic boys’ choir festival in Bodø in August 2024. The festival is during the Nordland musical festival week is happening at the same time in Bodø, so therefore there are great opportunities for experience fine musical events. During the festival, the choirs will be able to sing separately at the concert on Saturday, in addition to gathering all the participants in a tutti choir (both the concert on Saturday and the service on Sunday).
Conductor for choir with everybody is David Newsholme!
David Newsholme is Director of Music at Canterbury Cathedral, where he is responsible for the training of the choir, and for all other musical aspects of the cathedral’s work. David trained as a chorister at Worcester Cathedral. He held the organ scholarship at Salisbury Cathedral before studying at New College, Oxford and at the University of York. David was Assistant Director of Chapel Music at Winchester College, before moving to Canterbury in 2011 to become Assistant Organist. In 2014, he became the founder of the cathedral’s girls’ choir, before taking up his current position in 2021.

Thursday 8 August – Arrival and workshop
Friday 9 August – workshop
Saturday 10 August – workshop and concert (all togheter and each choir separately)
Sunday 11 August – Participate in church services defore depature
Price: 150 EUR
